महाशिवरात्रि का क्या महत्व है ?

सत्य ही शिव हैं और शिव ही सुंदर है। तभी तो भगवान आशुतोष को सत्यम शिवम सुंदर कहा जाता है। भगवान शिव की महिमा अपरंपार है। भोलेनाथ को प्रसन्न करने का ही महापर्व है...शिवरात्रि...जिसे त्रयोदशी तिथि, फाल्गुण मास, कृष्ण पक्ष की तिथि को प्रत्येक वर्ष मनाया जाता है। महाशिवरात्रि पर्व की विशेषता है कि सनातन धर्म के सभी प्रेमी इस त्योहार को मनाते हैं।

महाशिवरात्रि के दिन भक्त जप, तप और व्रत रखते हैं और इस दिन भगवान के शिवलिंग रूप के दर्शन करते हैं। इस पवित्र दिन पर देश के हर हिस्सों में शिवालयों में बेलपत्र, धतूरा, दूध, दही, शर्करा आदि से शिव जी का अभिषेक किया जाता है। देश भर में महाशिवरात्रि को एक महोत्सव के रुप में मनाया जाता है क्योंकि इस दिन देवों के देव महादेव का विवाह हुआ था।

 हमारे धर्म शास्त्रों में ऐसा कहा गया है कि महाशिवरात्रि का व्रत करने वाले साधक को मोक्ष की प्राप्ति होती है। जगत में रहते हुए मुष्य का कल्याण करने वाला व्रत है महाशिवरात्रि। इस व्रत को रखने से साधक के सभी दुखों, पीड़ाओं का अंत तो होता ही है साथ ही मनोकामनाएं भी पूर्ण होती है। शिव की साधना से धन-धान्य, सुख-सौभाग्य,और समृद्धि की कमी कभी नहीं होती। भक्ति और भाव से स्वत: के लिए तो करना ही चाहिए सात ही जगत के कल्याण के लिए भगवान आशुतोष की आराधना करनी चाहिए। मनसा...वाचा...कर्मणा हमें शिव की आराधना करनी चाहिए। भगवान भोलेनाथ..नीलकण्ठ हैं, विश्वनाथ है।

 हिंदू धर्म शास्त्रों में प्रदोषकाल यानि सूर्यास्त होने के बाद रात्रि होने के मध्य की अवधि, मतलब सूर्यास्त होने के बाद के 2 घंटे 24 मिनट की अवधि प्रदोष काल कहलाती है। इसी समय भगवान आशुतोष प्रसन्न मुद्रा में नृत्य करते है। इसी समय सर्वजनप्रिय भगवान शिव और माता पार्वती का विवाह हुआ था। यही वजह है, कि प्रदोषकाल में शिव पूजा या शिवरात्रि में औघड़दानी भगवान शिव का जागरण करना विशेष कल्याणकारी कहा गया है। हमारे सनातन धर्म में 12 ज्योतिर्लिंग का वर्णन है। कहा जाता है कि प्रदोष काल में महाशिवरात्रि तिथि में ही सभी ज्योतिर्लिंग का प्रादुर्भाव हुआ था।

महाशिवरात्रि का वैज्ञानिक महत्व

महाशिवरात्रि के दिन भगवान भोलेनाथ का विवाह माता पार्वती के साथ हुआ था एवं यह दिन बहुत ही पवित्र भी माना जाता है भक्तो के द्वारा शिव बारात निकाली जाती है तथा जगह जगह प्रसाद वितरण किया जाता है। इस दिन शंकर भगवान की पूजा की जाती है तथा शिवलिंग का जलाभिषेक किया जाता है और भगवान से हर मनोकामना पूर्ण करने की कामना की जाती है, भगवान शंकर को प्रसन्न करने का यह सबसे शुभ दिन माना गया है, इस दिन शंकर भगवान हर किसी की प्रार्थना सुनते हैं। महाशिवरात्रि पर व्रत रखने , शिव जी की पूजा करने तथा दान धर्म करने से भविष्य में आने वाली आपदा से भगवान शिव आपकी रक्षा करते हैं।

हिन्दू धर्म में हर त्यौहार का सम्बन्ध किसी न किसी देवता से अवश्य होता है और साथ ही उनका वैज्ञानिक महत्व भी होता है। उसी प्रकार महाशिवरात्रि का भी वैज्ञानिक महत्व महत्व है। कहा जाता है कि इस रात्रि को पृथ्वी के उत्तरी गोलार्द्ध की स्थित ऐसी होती है कि वह मनुष्य के अंदर की ऊर्जा को प्राकृतिक तौर पर ऊपर की तरफ ले जाने का कार्य करती है। प्रकृति का असर इस प्रकार होता है कि मनुष्य को उसके आध्यात्मिक शिखर तक जाने के सारे मार्ग सुगम हो जाते है। महाशिवरात्रि की रात्रि में अगर कोई सीधा बैठ कर ध्यान करता है तो उसकी ऊर्जा में बढ़ावा होता है तथा सकारात्मक परिमाण मिलते हैं।

धार्मिक मान्यताओं के अनुसार महाशिवरात्रि की पूजा पूरे दिन कभी भी की जा सकती है. लेकिन रात्रि के चार प्रहर में भोलेनाथ का पूजन करना अत्यधिक शुभ माना गया गया है.

प्रथम प्रहर पूजा मुहूर्त: शाम 06:13 बजे से रात 09:24 बजे तक

द्वितीय प्रहर पूजा मुहूर्त: रात 09:24 बजे से देर रात 12:35 बजे तक

तृतीय प्रहर पूजा मुहूर्त: देर रात 12:35 बजे से अगली सुबह 03:46 बजे तक

चतुर्थ प्रहर पूजा मुहूर्त: 19 फरवरी, सुबह 03:46 बजे से 06:56 बजे तक

महाशिवरात्रि पूजन विधि

महाशिवरात्रि के दिन सुबह जल्दी उठकर स्नान आदि करने के बाद मंदिर स्वच्छ करें और हाथ में जल लेकर व्रत का संकल्प करें. इस दिन मंदिर में जाकर शिवलिंग पर जल चढ़ाया जाता है. ध्यान रखें जल में थोड़ा दूध और कुछ दाने चीनी के अवश्य मिलाएं. इसके बाद भोलेनाथ को चंदन का तिलक करें और मां पार्वती को सिंदूर का तिलक लगाएं. फिर दोनों को कलावे से बांधे. महाशिवरात्रि के दिन शिवलिंग पर बेलपत्र, धतूरा, भांग, फूल और फल अर्पित करना शुभ माना जाता है. इस दिन गंगाजल, गन्ने के रस और शहद से भी भगवान शिव का अभिषेक किया जाता है.

What is the importance of Mahashivaratri?

Truth is Shiva and Shiva is beautiful.  That's why Lord Ashutosh is called Satyam Shivam Sundar.  The glory of Lord Shiva is limitless.  It is a great festival to please Bholenath... Shivratri... which is celebrated every year on Trayodashi date, Falgun month, Krishna Paksha date.  The specialty of Mahashivratri festival is that all the lovers of Sanatan Dharma celebrate this festival.

On the day of Mahashivaratri, devotees observe chanting, penance and fasting and on this day they see the form of Lord Shiva.  On this auspicious day, Shiva is anointed with belpatra, datura, milk, curd, sugar etc. in pagodas in every part of the country.  Mahashivratri is celebrated as a festival across the country because on this day the marriage of Lord Mahadev took place.

It has been said in our religious scriptures that the seeker who fasts on Mahashivaratri attains salvation.  Mahashivratri is the fast which does welfare of the person while living in the world.  By observing this fast, all the sorrows and pains of the seeker end, as well as the wishes are also fulfilled.  There is never a shortage of money-grains, happiness-good luck, and prosperity by worshiping Shiva.  One should definitely do it for the self with devotion and emotion; Lord Ashutosh should be worshiped for the welfare of the seven worlds.  Manasa...Vacha...Karmana We should worship Shiva.  Lord Bholenath.. is Neelkanth, is Vishwanath.

In Hindu scriptures, Pradosh Kaal i.e. the period between nightfall after sunset, means the period of 2 hours 24 minutes after sunset is called Pradosh Kaal.  At the same time Lord Ashutosh dances in a happy posture.  It was at this time that the marriage of the popular Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati took place.  This is the reason why worshiping Lord Shiva in Pradosh Kaal or awakening Lord Shiva in Shivratri has been said to be very auspicious.  There is a description of 12 Jyotirlingas in our Sanatan Dharma.  It is said that all the Jyotirlingas had emerged on the date of Mahashivratri in the Pradosh period.

Scientific significance of Mahashivaratri

Lord Bholenath was married to Mother Parvati on the day of Mahashivratri and this day is also considered very sacred. Shiva processions are taken out by the devotees and prasad is distributed everywhere.  On this day Lord Shankar is worshiped and Shivling is worshipped, and God is wished to fulfill every wish, it is considered the most auspicious day to please Lord Shankar, on this day Lord Shankar blesses everyone.  Hear prayer.  By observing fast on Mahashivratri, worshiping Lord Shiva and doing charity, Lord Shiva protects you from future calamities.

In Hinduism, every festival is definitely related to some or the other deity and at the same time they also have scientific significance.  Similarly, Mahashivaratri also has scientific significance.  It is said that on this night, the position of the northern hemisphere of the earth is such that it works to naturally move the energy inside the human being upwards.  The effect of nature is in such a way that all the ways for a man to reach his spiritual peak become easy.  If someone meditates sitting straight on the night of Mahashivratri, then his energy gets boosted and positive results are obtained.

mahashivratri worship method

On the day of Mahashivratri, after getting up early in the morning after taking bath etc., clean the temple and take water in hand and make a resolution to fast.  On this day, going to the temple, water is offered to the Shivling.  Keep in mind that add some milk and a few grains of sugar to the water.  After this apply sandalwood tilak to Bholenath and apply vermilion tilak to Maa Parvati.  Then tie both of them with kalawa.  On the day of Mahashivaratri, offering Belpatra, Dhatura, Bhang, flowers and fruits on Shivling is considered auspicious.  On this day Lord Shiva is also anointed with Ganges water, sugarcane juice and honey.
