मकर संक्रांति का मुहूर्त

सूर्य जब एक राशि से दूसरी राशि में जाते हैं तो सूर्य के राशि परिवर्तन को 'संक्रांति' कहा जाता है। इसलिए जब सूर्य गुरु की धनु से शनि की मकर राशि में प्रवेश करती है, तब इसे ज्योतिषीय भाषा में 'मकर संक्रांति' के नाम से जानते हैं। ज्योतिषशास्त्र में मकर राशि का स्वामी ग्रह शनि देव को बताया है जिनका स्थान नवग्रहों में सातवां है। पुराणों में शनि ग्रह को सूर्यदेव का पुत्र और सूर्य पत्नी छाया की संतान बताया गया है। एक कथा है कि, शनि की विनती पर सूर्य देव ने शनि महाराज से कहा था कि वह हर वर्ष उनसे मिलने के लिए मकर संक्रांति में आएंगे और इस समय पर शनि एवं उनके उपसकों को संपन्नता एवं सुख प्रदान करेंगे। इसलिए मान्यता के अनुसार हर साल सूर्य देव शनि और अपनी पत्नी छाया से मिलने शनि के घर मकर राशि में आते हैं और पिता पुत्र का संयोग होता है। इस साल मकर संक्रांति के दिन शनि अपनी राशि मकर में सूर्य देव का स्वागत करेंगे, क्योंकि अभी शनि मकर राशि में ही संचार कर रहे हैं।

मकर संक्रान्ति के दिन दान करने का महत्व अन्य दिनों की तुलना में बढ जाता है। इस दिन व्यक्ति को यथासंभव किसी गरीब को अन्नदान, तिल व गुड का दान करना चाहिए। तिल या फिर तिल से बने लड्डू या फिर तिल के अन्य खाद्ध पदार्थ भी दान करना शुभ रहता है। धर्म शास्त्रों के अनुसार कोई भी धर्म कार्य तभी फल देता है, जब वह पूर्ण आस्था व विश्वास के साथ किया जाता है। जितना सहजता से दान कर सकते हैं, उतना दान अवश्य करना चाहिए। 

 मकर संक्रान्ति के साथ अनेक पौराणिक तथ्य जुड़े हुए हैं जिसमें से कुछ के अनुसार भगवान आशुतोष ने इस दिन भगवान विष्णु जी को आत्मज्ञान का दान दिया था। इसके अतिरिक्त देवताओं के दिनों की गणना इस दिन से ही प्रारम्भ होती है। सूर्य जब दक्षिणायन में रहते है तो उस अवधि को देवताओं की रात्री व उतरायण के छ: माह को दिन कहा जाता है। महाभारत की कथा के अनुसार भीष्म पितामह ने अपनी देह त्यागने के लिये मकर संक्रान्ति का दिन ही चुना था। 

 कहा जाता है कि आज ही के दिन गंगा जी भगीरथ के पीछे-पीछे चलकर कपिल मुनि के आश्रम से होकर सागर में जा मिली थी। इसीलिए आज के दिन गंगा स्नान व तीर्थ स्थलों पर स्नान दान का विशेष महत्व माना गया है। मकर संक्रान्ति के दिन से मौसम में बदलाव आना आरम्भ होता है। यही कारण है कि रातें छोटी व दिन बड़े होने लगते हैं। सूर्य के उतरी गोलार्द्ध की ओर जाने के कारण ग्रीष्म ऋतु का प्रारम्भ होता है। सूर्य के प्रकाश में गर्मी और तपन बढ़ने लगती है। इसके फलस्वरुप प्राणियों में चेतना और कार्यशक्ति का विकास होता है। 

मकर-संक्रान्ति के दिन देव भी धरती पर अवतरित होते हैं, आत्मा को मोक्ष प्राप्त होता है, अंधकार का नाश व प्रकाश का आगमन होता है. इस दिन पुण्य, दान, जप तथा धार्मिक अनुष्ठानों का अनन्य महत्व है। इस दिन गंगा स्नान व सूर्योपासना पश्चात गुड़, चावल और तिल का दान श्रेष्ठ माना गया है। 

 मकर संक्रान्ति के दिन खाई जाने वाली वस्तुओं में जी भर कर तिलों का प्रयोग किया जाता है। तिल से बने व्यंजनों की खुशबू मकर संक्रान्ति के दिन हर घर से आती महसूस की जा सकती है। इस दिन तिल का सेवन और साथ ही दान करना शुभ होता है। तिल का उबटन, तिल के तेल का प्रयोग, तिल मिश्रित जल से स्नान, तिल मिश्रित जल का पान, तिल- हवन, तिल की वस्तुओं का सेवन व दान करना व्यक्ति के पापों में कमी करता है। 

मकर संक्रांति का त्यौहार क्यों मनाया जाता है, महत्व 

मकर संक्रांति किसानों के लिए बहुत अधिक महत्वपूर्ण होती है, इसी दिन सभी किसान अपनी फसल काटते है. मकर संक्रांति भारत का सिर्फ एक ऐसा त्यौहार है जो हर साल 14 या 15 जनवरी को ही मनाया जाता है. यह वह दिन होता है जब सूर्य उत्तर की ओर बढ़ता है. हिन्दूओं के लिए सूर्य एक रोशनी, ताकत और ज्ञान का प्रतीक होता है. मकर संक्रांति त्यौहार सभी को अँधेरे से रोशनी की तरफ बढ़ने की प्रेरणा देता है. एक नए तरीके से काम शुरू करने का प्रतीक है. मकर संक्रांति के दिन, सूर्योदय से सूर्यास्त तक पर्यावरण अधिक चैतन्य रहता है, यानि पर्यावरण में दिव्य जागरूकता होती है, इसलिए जो लोग आध्यात्मिक अभ्यास कर रहे है, वे इस चैतन्य का लाभ उठा सकते है.

मकर संक्रांति पूजा विधि 

जो लोग इस विशेष दिन को मानते है, वे अपने घरों में मकर संक्रांति की पूजा करते है. इस दिन के लिए पूजा विधि को नीचे दर्शाया गया है-

सबसे पहले पूजा शुरू करने से पहले पूण्य काल मुहूर्त और महा पुण्य काल मुहूर्त निकाल ले, और अपने पूजा करने के स्थान को साफ़ और शुद्ध कर ले. वैसे यह पूजा भगवान् सूर्य के लिए की जाती है इसलिए यह पूजा उन्हें समर्पित करते है.

इसके बाद एक थाली में 4 काली और 4 सफेद तीली के लड्डू रखे जाते हैं. साथ ही कुछ पैसे भी थाली में रखते हैं.

इसके बाद थाली में अगली सामग्री चावल का आटा और हल्दी का मिश्रण, सुपारी, पान के पत्ते, शुद्ध जाल, फूल और अगरबत्ती रखी जाती है.

इसके बाद भगवान के प्रसाद के लिए एक प्लेट में काली तीली और सफेद तीली के लड्डू, कुछ पैसे और मिठाई रख कर भगवान को चढाया जाता है.

यह प्रसाद भगवान् सूर्य को चढ़ाने के बाद उनकी आरती की जाती है.

पूजा के दौरान महिलाएं अपने सिर को ढक कर रखती हैं.

इसके बाद सूर्य मंत्र ‘ॐ हरं ह्रीं ह्रौं सह सूर्याय नमः’ का कम से कम 21 या 108 बार उच्चारण किया जाता है.

कुछ भक्त इस दिन पूजा के दौरान 12 मुखी रुद्राक्ष भी पहनते हैं, या पहनना शुरू करते है. 

मकर संक्रांति 2023 के दिन शुभ मुहूर्त 

मकर संक्रांति प्रतिवर्ष 14 या 15 जनवरी को मनाया जाता है. इस साल मकर संक्रांति 15 जनवरी को मनाई जाएगी.

पुण्य काल के लिए शुभ मुहूर्त दोपहर 02:43 बजे से 05:45 बजे के बीच है, जोकि कुल 3 घंटे और 02 मिनिट है.

इसके अलावा महा पूण्य काल के शुभ मुहूर्त दोपहर 02:43 बजे से 04:28 बजे के बीच है जोकि कुल 1 घंटे 45 मिनिट के लिए है.

Makar Sankranti Muhurta

When Sun moves from one zodiac sign to another, then the change of Sun's zodiac sign is called 'Sankranti'.  That's why when Sun enters Saturn's Capricorn sign from Jupiter's Sagittarius, then it is known as 'Makar Sankranti' in astrological language.  In astrology, the lord of Capricorn has been described as Shani Dev, whose position is seventh among the nine planets.  In the Puranas, the planet Saturn has been described as the son of Suryadev and the child of Sun's wife Chhaya.  There is a legend that, on Shani's request, Surya Dev had told Shani Maharaj that he would come every year on Makar Sankranti to meet him and would bestow prosperity and happiness to Shani and his worshipers at this time.  That's why according to the belief, every year Sun God comes to Shani's house in Capricorn to meet Shani and his wife Chhaya and there is a combination of father and son.  This year, on the day of Makar Sankranti, Shani will welcome the Sun God in his zodiac Capricorn, because at present Saturn is communicating in Capricorn only.

The importance of donating on the day of Makar Sankranti increases as compared to other days.  On this day, a person should donate food, sesame and jaggery to a poor person as much as possible.  It is auspicious to donate sesame or laddoos made of sesame or other edible items of sesame.  According to religious scriptures, any religious work bears fruit only when it is done with full faith and belief.  You must donate as much as you can easily.

Many mythological facts are associated with Makar Sankranti, according to some of which Lord Ashutosh gifted enlightenment to Lord Vishnu on this day.  Apart from this, the counting of the days of the deities starts from this day only.  When the sun is in Dakshinayan, that period is called the night of the deities and the six months of Uttarayan are called day.  According to the story of Mahabharata, Bhishma Pitamah had chosen the day of Makar Sankranti to leave his body.

It is said that on this day, Ganga ji followed Bhagirath and got into the ocean after going through Kapil Muni's ashram.  That is why on this day bathing in the Ganges and donating a bath at pilgrimage sites have been considered to be of special importance.  The weather starts changing from the day of Makar Sankranti.  This is the reason why the nights start getting shorter and the days longer.  Due to the movement of the sun towards the northern hemisphere, the summer season begins.  In the light of the sun, the heat and heat starts increasing.  As a result of this, there is development of consciousness and work power in the living beings.

On the day of Makar-Sankranti, the gods also incarnate on the earth, the soul attains salvation, darkness is destroyed and light arrives.  On this day, virtue, charity, chanting and religious rituals have unique importance.  On this day, donation of jaggery, rice and sesame is considered best after bathing in the Ganges and worshiping the sun.

Sesame seeds are used to the fullest in the things eaten on the day of Makar Sankranti.  The fragrance of dishes made of sesame seeds can be felt coming from every house on the day of Makar Sankranti.  It is auspicious to consume sesame on this day as well as donate it.  Boiling of sesame, use of sesame oil, bathing with water mixed with sesame, drinking water mixed with sesame, consumption of sesame-havan, consumption and donation of sesame items reduce the sins of a person.

Why is the festival of Makar Sankranti celebrated, its importance

Makar Sankranti is very important for the farmers, on this day all the farmers harvest their crops.  Makar Sankranti is the only festival in India which is celebrated only on 14 or 15 January every year.  This is the day when the sun moves towards the north.  For Hindus, the sun is a symbol of light, strength and knowledge.  Makar Sankranti festival inspires everyone to move from darkness to light.  Symbolizes starting work in a new way.  On the day of Makar Sankranti, from sunrise to sunset, the environment remains more Chaitanya, that is, there is divine awareness in the environment, so those who are doing spiritual practice can take advantage of this Chaitanya.

Makar Sankranti Puja Method

People who believe in this special day worship Makar Sankranti in their homes.  The worship method for this day is shown below-

First of all, before starting the worship, take out the Punya Kaal Muhurta and Maha Punya Kaal Muhurta, and clean and purify your place of worship.  By the way, this worship is done for Lord Surya, so this worship is dedicated to him.

After this, 4 black and 4 white matchstick laddus are kept in a plate.  Also keep some money in the plate.

After this, the next ingredients rice flour and turmeric mixture, betel nut, betel leaves, pure net, flowers and incense sticks are kept in the plate.

After this, black matchsticks and white matchstick laddoos, some money and sweets are offered to God in a plate for God's prasad.

After offering this prasad to Lord Surya, his aarti is performed.

Women keep their heads covered during worship.

After this the Surya Mantra 'Om Haram Hreem Hraum Sah Suryaya Namah' is chanted at least 21 or 108 times.

Some devotees also wear, or start wearing, 12 Mukhi Rudraksha during worship on this day.

Auspicious time for Makar Sankranti 2023

Makar Sankranti is celebrated every year on 14 or 15 January.  This year Makar Sankranti will be celebrated on 15 January.

The auspicious time for Punya Kaal is between 02:43 PM to 05:45 PM, which is a total of 3 hours and 02 minutes.

Apart from this, the auspicious time of Maha Punya Kaal is between 02:43 PM to 04:28 PM, which is for a total of 1 hour 45 minutes.
