2. उचित देखभाल करें: तुलसी का पौधा घर में लगाने के बाद इनकी उचित देखभाल करना बेहद आवश्यक है. यदि घर में तुलसी का पौधा सूख जाए या फिर किसी प्रकार से ​क्षतिग्रस्त हो जाए, तो परिवार के सदस्यों के लिए ये दुर्भाग्य लाता है. 

3. इस दिशा में न लगाएं: कभी भी घर की  दक्षिण-पूर्व दिशा में तुलसी का पौधा न लगाएं. इस दिशा को अग्नि की दिशा माना जाता है. इसलिए तुलसी का पौधा इस दिशा में लगाने से बचें. तुलसी के पौधे से सकारात्मक ऊर्जा ही नहीं मिलती है, बल्कि घर की सजावन के लिए भी ये बेहद शानदार होता है. 

4. जमीन में लगाने से बचें: इस बात का हमेशा ध्यान रखें कि कभी भी तुलसी का पौधा जमीन में न लगाएं. शुभ फल के लिए हमेशा तुलसी के पौधे को गमले में लगाना चाहिए.

8.विषम संख्या में लगाएं तुलसी:  वास्तु के अनुसार अच्छे प्रभाव के लिए हमेशा तुलसी के पौधों को विषम संख्या में रखें. जैसे एक, तीन या तुलसी के पांच पौधे लगाएं. यदि आप बागवानी करना पसंद करते हैं, तो तुलसी के पौधे को कैक्टस जैसे पौधों की किसी भी प्रकार की खुरदरी या कांटेदार प्रजाति के पास न रखें.

9. ऊंचे स्थान पर रखें: घर में तुलसी के पौधे को हमेशा ऐसे चबूतरे पर रखें, जो आपके घर के मूल आधार से काफी ऊंचा हो, क्योंकि यह वास्तु के नियमों के अनुसार अच्छा होता है. साथ ही तुलसी के पौधे के लिए घर के उत्तर-पूर्व क्षेत्र में कम से कम ऊंची खिड़की या बालकनी की जगह तलाशें.

15. रविवार के दिन न तोड़ें पत्ते: रविवार के दिन भी तुलसी पत्र को तोड़ने से परहेज करना चाहिए. साथ ही रविवार के दिन तुलसी के पौधे में जल अर्पित नहीं करना चाहिए. ऐसा माना जाता है कि इस दिन तुलसी के पत्ते तोड़ने पर पूजा का फल पूरा नहीं मिलता.
