जन्मकुंडली में 9 ग्रह, 12 राशियां और 12 भावों के परस्पर संयोग से अनेक प्रकार के योगायोग बनते हैं जिनसे जातक का जीवन प्रभावित होता है। यदि जन्मकुंडली में शुभ योग बने हों तो जातक जीवन में उन्नति करता और प्रसिद्धि तथा प्रतिष्ठा प्राप्त करता है। यदि कुंडली में ग्रह योग अशुभ फलदाता हो तो जातक अनाचार के मार्ग पर आगे बढ़ता है उसे बदनामी मिलती है। जिन व्यक्तियों पर मंगल, राहू, शनि जैसे पाप ग्रहों का प्रभाव सबल रूप से होता है ऐसे व्यक्ति क्रूर कर्म करने, दूसरों को पीड़ा पहुंचाने वाले, अपने हित के लिए दूसरों को शारीरिक, मानसिक और आर्थिक कष्ट देने वाले होते हैं। अपराधी और अपराधिक घटनाओं को मोटे तौर पर चारों भागों वर्गीकृत कर सकते है-

स्वाभाविक अपराधी: कुछ व्यक्तियों के अंदर अपराध स्वाभाविक प्रकृति होती है। ऐसे व्यक्तियों को दूसरे को सताने में आनंद आता है।

परिस्थिति जन्य अपराधी : अपने इर्द-गिर्द के वातावरण और परिस्थितियों के कारण अपराध करने वाले व्यक्ति को इस श्रेणी में रखा जा सकता है। ऐसे व्यक्ति गलत संगत में पड़ कर अपराधी बन जाते हैं। कभी-कभी किसी व्यक्ति को उसके शत्रु इतना पीड़ित करते हैं कि वह विद्रोही बनकर शत्रु को नष्ट करने के लिए हथियार उठा लेता है और अपराधी बन जाता है।

भावुक अपराधी : कभी-कभी व्यक्ति अति भावुकता में आकर अपराध कर बैठता है। ऐसे व्यक्ति की मूल प्रवृति आपराधिक नहीं होती। यदि किसी विशेष व्यक्ति ने उसे चोट पहुंचाई हो तो वह उसके प्रति आक्रामक और कठोर बन जाता है और आवेश में आकर अपराध कर बैठता है।

सभ्य अपराधी : ऐसे अपराधी समाज के प्रतिष्ठित और सम्पन्न वर्ग से संबंधित होते हैं। ऐसे व्यक्ति प्राय: रुपए के लेन-देन और अन्य आर्थिक कारणों से अपराध अधिक करते हैं।

जिस व्यक्ति की कुंडली में लग्र-लग्रेश, सूर्य और चंद्र ये तीनों अशुभ ग्रहों से पीड़ित हों तो ऐसे व्यक्ति के अपराधी बनने की संभावना अधिक होती है।  विपरीत परिस्थितियों में या आत्मरक्षा के लिए ऐसा व्यक्ति कानून को अपने हाथ में लेकर अपराधी बन जाता है। यदि ऐसी स्थिति में लग्र का संबंध अष्टम भाव में हो तो व्यक्ति विध्वंसात्मक और नकारात्मक चरित्र का होता है और अपराधी बन जाने की स्थिति में वह बहुत से लोगों का अकारण ही अहित कर बैठता है।

यदि किसी अपराधी की कुंडली में लग्र-लग्नेश, चंद्रमा और चंद्र लग्नेश पुरुष राशियां हों तथा इन पुरुष राशियों के स्वामी, सूर्य, शनि या मंगल हों तो ऐसे अपराधी बहुत आक्रामक स्वभाव के होते हैं। छोटे-मोटे अपराध करते-करते ये बहुत बड़े स्तर के कुख्यात अपराधी बन जाते हैं।

इसके विपरीत किसी अपराधी की कुंडली में लग्र-लग्नेश, चंद्रमा लग्र और चंद्र लग्नेश से ये सभी स्त्री राशियों में हों तथा इनके स्वामी शुभ ग्रह हों तो ऐसा व्यक्ति भावुक अपराधी या सभ्य अपराधी होता है। वह शांत रह कर अपराध करता है।

ऐसे अपराधी बड़े खतरनाक होते हैं क्योंकि इनका व्यक्तित्व और सामाजिक छवि अपराधियों वाली नहीं होती और ये अपराध की आधार भूमि तैयार कर लेते हैं। ऐसे अपराधी किसी को अपने रास्ते से हटाने के लिए हिंसा या बल प्रयोग का सहारा नहीं लेते बल्कि कूटनीति से जहर देकर या किसी अन्य षड्यंत्र के अंतर्गत अपने शत्रु की हत्या करते हैं।

किसी भी व्यक्ति को पेशेवर अपराधी बनाने में राहू-केतू ग्रह की भूमिका अति महत्वपूर्ण होती है। अत: राहू की स्थिति का अध्ययन जन्म कुंडली में बहुत सावधानीपूर्ण करना चाहिए। यदि किसी अपराधी की कुंडली में राहू तीसरे या दसवें घर में हो तो ऐसा अपराधी बहुत जुझारू होता है। वह एक के बाद एक बहुत से अपराध करता चला जाता है। यदि किसी अपराधी की कुंडली में राहू दूसरे या आठवें घर में हो तो ऐसा अपराधी दूसरों की धन-दौलत को षड्यंत्रपूर्वक लूटने वाला होता है।

जन्मकुंडली में गुरु की शुभ और बलवान स्थिति व्यक्ति को अपराधी बनाने से रोकती है। अत: यदि किसी व्यक्ति की कुंडली में अपराधी बनने के संकेत मिल रहे हों तो उसकी जन्मकुंडली में गुरु ग्रह की स्थिति का बहुत सावधानीपूर्वक विवेचन करना चाहिए। यदि कुंडली में गुरु ग्रह कमजोर हो तथा पाप ग्रह बली हो तो ऐसे व्यक्ति के परिस्थितिवश अपराधी बनने की संभावना होती है। यदि किसी बालक की जन्मकुंडली में क्रूर ग्रहों की प्रबलता हो, शुभ ग्रहों की निर्बलता के कारण उसके गलत मार्ग पर चलने के संकेत मिलते हैं तो उस बालक का पालन-पोषण विशेष ध्यान देकर करना चाहिए। हिंसक विचारों, हिंसक फिल्मों से उसे दूर रखना चाहिए। उसे महापुरुषों की जीवनी और प्रसंगों के माध्यम से सन्मार्ग पर चलने के लिए प्रेरित करना चाहिए।

कुंडली में ऐसे बनते हैं जेल यात्रा के योग

ज्योतिष शास्त्र के अनुसार शनि, मंगल और राहु जेल के योग को निर्मित करने में मुख्य भूमिका निभाते हैं। इनके अलावा लग्नों में द्वादेश, षष्ठेश व अष्टमेश भी कारावास योग बनाते हैं। साथ ही जन्म कुंडली में महादशा, अंतर्दशा भी अशुभ ग्रहों पर हो तो ऐसी स्थिति बनती है। कई बार निर्दोष होने पर भी जेल जाना पड़ता है। लग्न कुंडली में छठे, आठवें और बारहवें भाव स्वामी ग्रह जेल भिजवाने के लिए जिम्मेदार होते हैं। अगर कोई शुभ ग्रहों की दृष्टि दशम भाव पर ना हो व शनि, मंगल और राहु ग्रह का योग दशम स्थान पर हो, तो जातक अपराध और असामाजिक कार्यों में लिप्त करता है। कुंडली में छठे स्थान और आठवें स्थान का स्वामी एवं राहु का बारहवें स्थान के स्वामी के साथ सबंध रहने पर व्यक्ति को जेल की सजा होती है।
