ज्योतिष शास्त्र के अनुसार बच्चे का जन्म होने के बाद माता-पिता की जन्मकुंडली में कोई परिवर्तन नहीं आता है, लेकिन बच्चे की जन्मकुंडली से माता- पिता के भाग्य में परिवर्तन अवश्य होता है।

परिवार में माता-पिता सहित, भाई- बहनों की अपनी- अपनी जन्म कुंडलियां और अपना -अपना भाग्य होता है, लेकिन फिर भी परिवार में होने के नाते, एक दूसरे का भाग्य जुड़ा रहता है। पिता के भाग्य से बच्चों के भाग्य पर असर पड़ना स्वभाविक है, इसी प्रकार बच्चों के भाग्य से पिता के भाग्य में परिवर्तन होना स्वाभाविक है।

किसी भी जातक की जन्मकुंडली से उसके माता-पिता, भाई- बहनों और मामा आदि के भाग्य के बारे में मोटा -मोटा अंदाजा लगाया जा सकता है। उदाहरण के लिए जातक का स्वयं का भाव लग्न, छोटे भाई /बहिन का तृतीय, बड़े भाई /बहिन का 11 वां, माता का चतुर्थ, संतान या मित्र का पंचम, मामा का छठा ( माता का भाई), पत्नी या पति का सातवां, पिता का 10 वां ( दक्षिण भारत के अनुसार 9 बां), बेटे की बहू का 11वां, मामी का 12वां (मामा की पत्नी), सांस का दसवां ( पति की माता), ससुर का चौथा (पति का पिता) । इस प्रकार जन्मकुंडली से किसी भी रिश्तेदार के बारे में मालूम किया जा सकता है।

एक ही भाव दो संबंधियों का कारक हो सकता है। ‌उनका अंतर ग्रहों से किया जा सकता है। जैसे, माता का चंद्रमा, पिता का सूर्य, भाई का मंगल, मामा का बुध आदि।

जैसे, यदि माता के बारे में जानना हो तो जातक के चौथे भाव को लग्न मानते हुए, अन्य भावों के विषय के अनुसार, उसकी जन्म कुंडली का परीक्षण किया जा सकता है।

उपरोक्त फल का प्रभाव, संयुक्त परिवार में ज्यादा होता है। इसीलिए भारतीय दर्शन में संयुक्त परिवारों का महत्व बताया गया है।

2. ज्योतिष में चंद्रमा को मां से जोड़कर देखा जाता है। कुंडली में चंद्रमा की स्थिति ठीक न हो तो स्त्री पक्ष से कष्ट हो सकता है। मां के स्वास्थ्य पर भी प्रभाव पड़ता है। चंद्रमा को मजबूत बनाने के लिए शिव जी की पूजा करनी चाहिए और अपनी माता का सदैव सम्मान करना चाहिए।

3. गुरु की स्थिति ठीक न हो तो गुरुजनों से विवाद होने की स्थिति बन सकती है। इससे बचने के लिए गुरुवार को केले के वृक्ष में जल चढ़ाना चाहिए और शुद्ध घी का दीपक जलाना चाहिए। अपने गुरूजनों और बड़े बुजुर्गों का सम्मान एवं सेवा करनी चाहिए।

4. मंगल प्रतिकूल हो तो व्यक्ति का अपने भाई बहनों के साथ झगड़ा बना रहता है। मंगल से शुभ फल पाने के लिेए लाल चीजों का दान करना चाहिए साथ ही अपने व्यवहार को नम्र रखना चाहिए। खासतौर पर अपने बड़े भाई से हमेशा सम्मान से बात करनी चाहिए।

5. किसी की कुंडली में शुक्र कमजोर हो तो उसके प्रेम संबंध और दांपत्य जीवन में दरार आने लगती है। शुक्र को मजबूत बनाने के लिए स्त्री का सम्मान करना चाहिए और अपने तन के साथ मन को भी स्वच्छ रखना चाहिए।

6. सूर्य का संबंध पिता है। यदि कुंडली में सूर्य की स्थिति सही न हो तो उसे मान-सम्मान की हानि होती है साथ ही पिता के साथ मतभेद बने रहते हैं। ऐसे में प्रतिदिन सूर्य को जल अर्पित करना चाहिए और अपने पिता एवं गुरूजनों की सम्मान करना चाहिए।
