Shri,' 'Sir' and 'Mrs' have great importance in social etiquette.

भारत में श्री, श्रीमान और श्रीमती शब्दों का सामाजिक शिष्टाचार में बड़ा महत्व है। आमतौर श्री, श्रीमान शब्द पुरुषों के साथ लगाया जाता है और श्रीमती महिलाओं के साथ। 

इसमें पेच यह है कि श्री और श्रीमान जैसे विशेषण तो वयस्क किन्तु अविवाहित पुरुषों के साथ भी प्रयोग कर लिए जाते हैं, किंतु श्रीमती शब्द सिर्फ विवाहिता स्त्रियों के साथ ही इस्तेमाल करने की परम्परा है। अविवाहिता के साथ सुश्री शब्द लगाने का प्रचलन है। यहां परम्परा शब्द का इस्तेमाल हमने इसलिए किया है क्योंकि श्रीमती शब्द में कहीं से भी यह संकेत नहीं है कि विवाहिता ही श्रीमती है। 

संस्कृत के श्री शब्द की विराटता में सबकुछ समाया हुआ है मगर पुरुषवादी समाज ने श्रीमती का न सिर्फ आविष्कार किया बल्कि विवाहिता स्त्रियों पर लाद कर उन्हें श्रीहीन कर दिया। संस्कृत के श्री शब्द का अर्थ होता है लक्ष्मी, समृद्धि, सम्पत्ति, धन, ऐश्वर्य आदि। सत्ता, राज्य, सम्मान, गौरव, महिमा, सद्गुण, श्रेष्ठता, बुद्धि आदि भाव भी इसमें समाहित हैं। धर्म, अर्थ, काम भी इसमें शामिल हैं। वनस्पति जगत, जीव जगत इसमें वास करते हैं। अर्थात समूचा परिवेश श्रीमय है। 

भगवान विष्णु को श्रीमान या श्रीमत् की संज्ञा भी दी जाती है। गौरतलब है कि श्री स्त्रीवाची शब्द है। उपरोक्त जितने भी गुणों की महिमा श्री में है, उससे जाहिर है कि सारा संसार श्री में ही आश्रय लेता है। अर्थात समस्त संसार को आश्रय प्रदान करने वाली श्री के साथ रहने के कारण भगवान विष्णु को श्रीमान कहा गया है। इसलिए वे श्रीपति हुए। इसीलिए श्रीमत् हुए। भावार्थ यही है कि भगवान विष्णु तो कण-कण में व्याप्त हैं, वही राम भी हैं, वही तो कृष्ण भी हैं।

प्रश्न तो यह है कि जब श्री के होने से भगवान विष्णु श्रीमान या श्रीमत हुए तो फिर श्रीमती की क्या ज़रूरत है? श्री से बने श्रीमत् का अर्थ हुआ ऐश्वर्यवान, धनवान, प्रतिष्ठित, सुंदर, विष्णु, कुबेर, शिव आदि। यह सब इनके पास पत्नी के होने से है। 

पुरुषवादी समाज ने श्रीमत् का स्त्रीवाची भी बना डाला और श्रीमान प्रथम स्थान पर विराजमान हो गए और श्रीमती पिछड़ गईं। समाज यह भूल गया कि श्री की वजह से ही विष्णु श्रीमत हुए। संस्कृत में एक प्रत्यय है वत् जिसमें स्वामित्व का भाव है। इसमें अक्सर अनुस्वार लगाया  जाता है। 

क्या किसी वयस्क के नाम के साथ श्रीमान, श्री, श्रीमंत या श्रीयुत लगाने से यह साफ हो जाता है कि उसकी वैवाहिक स्थिति क्या है... जैसे बलवंत। इसी तरह श्रीमत् भी श्रीमंत हो जाता है। हिन्दी में यह वंत स्वामित्व के भाव में वान बनकर सामने आता है जैसे बलवान, शीलवान आदि। स्पष्ट है कि विष्णु श्रीवान हैं इसलिए श्रीमान हैं। 

श्री तो स्वयंभू है। श्री का जन्म संस्कृत की श्रि धातु से हुआ है जिसमें धारण करना और शरण लेना जैसे भाव हैं। जाहिर है समूची सृष्टि के मूल में स्त्री शक्ति ही है जो सबकुछ धारण करती है। इसीलिए उसे श्री कहा गया अर्थात जिसमें सब आश्रय पाए, किसी भी स्त्री को श्री नहीं कहा जा सकता। अब ऐसी श्री के सहचर श्रीमान कहलाएं तो समझ में आता है मगर जिस श्री की वजह से वे श्रीमान हैं, वह स्वयं श्रीमती बन जाए, यह बात समझ नहीं आती। 

तुर्रा यह की बाद में पुरुष ने श्री विशेषण पर भी अधिकार जमा लिया। अक्लमंद सफाई देते हैं कि यह तो श्रीमान का संक्षिप्त रूप है। तब श्रीमती का संक्षिप्त रूप भी श्री ही हुआ। ऐसे में स्त्रियों को भी अपने नाम के साथ श्री लगाना शुरु करना चाहिए, क्योंकि वे ही इसकी अधिकारिणी हैं क्योंकि श्री ही स्त्री है और इसलिए उसे लक्ष्मी कहा जाता है। पत्नी या भार्या के रूप में तो वह गृहलक्ष्मी बाद में बनती है, पहले कन्यारूप में भी वह लक्ष्मी ही है। 

संस्कृत व्याकरण के मुताबिक श्री शब्द के तीन अर्थ होते हैं: शोभा, लक्ष्मी और कांति। तीनों ही प्रसंग और संदर्भ के मुताबिक अलग-अलग अर्थों में इस्तेमाल होते हैं। श्री शब्द का सबसे पहले ऋग्वेद में उल्लेख मिलता है। तमाम किताबों में लिखा गया है कि श्री शक्ति है। जिस व्यक्ति में विकास करने की और खोज की शक्ति होती है, वह श्री युक्त माना जाता है। 

ईश्वर, महापुरुषों, वैज्ञानिकों, तत्ववेत्ताओं, धन्नासेठों, शब्द शिल्पियों और ऋषि-मुनियों के नाम के आगे श्री शब्द का अमूमन इस्तेमाल करने की परंपरा रही है। राम को जब श्रीराम कहा जाता है, तब राम शब्द में ईश्वरत्व का बोध होता है। इसी तरह श्रीकृष्ण, श्रीलक्ष्मी और श्रीविष्णु तथा श्रीअरविंद के नाम में श्री शब्द उनके व्यक्तित्व, कार्य, महानता और अलौकिकता को प्रकट करता है। 

मौजूदा वक्त में अपने बड़ों के नाम के आगे श्री लगाना एक सामान्य शिष्टाचार है। लेकिन श्री शब्द इतना संकीर्ण नहीं है कि प्रत्येक नाम के आगे उसे लगाया जाए। असल में तो श्री पूरे ब्रह्मांड की प्राण-शक्ति है। ईश्वर ने सृष्टि रचना इसलिए की, क्योंकि ईश्वर श्री से ओतप्रोत है। परमात्मा को वेद में अनंत श्री वाला कहा गया है। मनुष्य अनंत-धर्मा नहीं है, इसलिए वह असंख्य श्री वाला तो नहीं हो सकता है, लेकिन पुरुषार्थ से ऐश्वर्य हासिल करके वह श्रीमान बन सकता है। सच तो यह है कि जो पुरुषार्थ नहीं करता, वह श्रीमान कहलाने का अधिकारी नहीं है।

श्री सम्पूर्ण ब्रह्मांड की प्राणशक्ति हैं। परमात्मा अनन्तश्री हैं। भगवान श्रीकृष्ण ने परमात्मा की उच्चतम अभिव्यक्ति की इसलिए वे श्री कृष्ण हैं। श्री के बिना भगवान साकार रूप ले ही नहीं सकते।

Everything is included in the vastness of the Sanskrit word 'Sri', but the malevolent society not only invented Mrs.  The Sanskrit word 'Shri' means Lakshmi, prosperity, wealth, wealth, opulence etc.  Power, state, honour, pride, glory, virtue, superiority, intelligence etc. are also included in it.  Dharma, Artha, Kama are also included in this.  The plant world and the animal world live in it.  That is, the whole environment is shrimay.

Lord Vishnu is also given the name of Shriman or Shrimat.  It is worth noting that 'Sri' is a feminine word.  The glory of all the above mentioned qualities is in Shri, it is evident that the whole world takes shelter in Shri.  That is, Lord Vishnu has been called Shriman because of being with Shri, who provides shelter to the whole world.  That's why he became Shripati.  That is why Mrs.  The meaning is this that Lord Vishnu pervades every particle, he is also Rama, he is also Krishna.

The question is, when Lord Vishnu becomes Shriman or Shrimat by being Shri, then what is the need of Shrimat?  The meaning of Shrimat derived from Shrima is opulent, wealthy, prestigious, beautiful, Vishnu, Kuber, Shiva etc.  All this is due to having a wife with him.

The masculine society has also made Shrimat a feminine voice, and Mr. sits in the first place and Mrs. lags behind.  The society forgot that it was because of Shri Shrimat that Vishnu became Shrimat.  In Sanskrit, there is a suffix Vat which has a sense of ownership.  It is often invoked.

Does adding Shriman, Shri, Shrimant or Shriyut to an adult's name make it clear what is his marital status... like Balwant.  Similarly, shrimat also becomes shrimant.  In Hindi, this vant appears as a van in the sense of ownership, such as strong, modest etc.  It is clear that Vishnu is Srivan, therefore he is Mr.

Mr. is self-proclaimed.  Shree is derived from the Sanskrit word 'Shri' which has expressions like holding and taking shelter.  Obviously, at the root of the entire creation is the feminine power which holds everything.  That is why she was called Shri, that is, in whom everyone finds shelter, no woman can be called Shri.  Now it is understandable to call the companions of such a Mr. Mr., but because of which Mr. He is Mr., he should become Mrs. himself, it is not understood.

It is true that later the man also took possession of Shri Adjective.  Wisdom clarifies that this is an abbreviation of Mr.  Then the shortened form of Mrs. also became Mr.  In such a situation, women should also start putting Shree with their name, because they are the authority for it because Shree is a woman and hence she is called Lakshmi.  In the form of wife or Bharya, she becomes Grihalakshmi later, she is also Lakshmi in the first daughter form.

According to Sanskrit grammar, the word Shri has three meanings: Shobha, Lakshmi and Kanti.  All three are used with different meanings depending on the context and context.  The word Sri is first mentioned in the Rigveda.  It has been written in all the books that Shri Shakti is there.  The person who has the power to develop and search, he is considered to be Sri Yukta.

There has been a tradition of using the word Shri in front of the names of Gods, great men, scientists, philosophers, wealthy people, word craftsmen and sages.  When Ram is called 'Shri Ram', then the word Ram gives a sense of godliness.  Similarly, the word Sri in the names of Sri Krishna, Sri Lakshmi and Sri Vishnu and Sri Aurobindo reveals their personality, work, greatness and supernaturalism.

At present, it is a common courtesy to put Shree in front of the names of your elders.  But the word Shri is not so narrow as to put it against each name.  In fact, Shri is the life force of the entire universe.  God created the universe because God is full of Shri.  The Supreme Soul is called Anant Sri Vala in the Vedas.  Man is not infinite-dharma, so he cannot be of innumerable Shri, but by attaining opulence through effort, he can become Shriman.  The truth is that one who does not make effort, does not deserve to be called Mr.

Sri is the life force of the entire universe.  God is Anantashree.  Lord Sri Krishna expressed the highest manifestation of the Supreme Soul, therefore he is Sri Krishna.  Without Shri Bhagwan cannot take the corporeal form.
