Ram-Ram

हम जब किसी से मिलते हैं या किसी का अभिवादन करते हैं तो नमस्कार, प्रणाम या राम-राम कहते हैं। किसी को अभिवादन करना हमारी संस्कृति ही नहीं सभी संस्कृतियों का अभिन्न अंग है। और यह परम्पराएं किसी कारण से बनी होती है। जैसे किसी को राम-राम बोलने की परंपरा। पुराने समय में गांव हो या शहर सभी जगह अभिवादन हेतु भगवान का नाम लिया जाता था। आज भी कई गांव ऐसे हैं जहां एक दूसरे को अभिवादन करने के लिए राम-राम कहते हैं। लेकिन जरा सोचिए भगवान राम का नाम अभिवादन करते समय एक बार भी तो ले सकते हैं लेकिन ऐसा नहीं है। हम किसी को अभिवादन करते समय भगवान राम के नाम का उपयोग 2 बार किया जाता है। आखिर इसके पीछे का रहस्य क्या है। चलिए आपको बताते हैं। 

राम शब्द की व्युत्पत्ति 

राम शब्द संस्कृत के दो धातुओं, रम् और घम से बना है। रम् का अर्थ है रमना या निहित होना और घम का अर्थ है ब्रह्मांड का खाली स्थान। इस प्रकार राम का अर्थ सकल ब्रह्मांड में निहित या रमा हुआ तत्व यानी चराचर में विराजमान स्वयं ब्रह्म। शास्त्रों में लिखा है, “रमन्ते योगिनः अस्मिन सा रामं उच्यते” अर्थात, योगी ध्यान में जिस शून्य में रमते हैं उसे राम कहते हैं। 

अभिवादन के समय राम नाम 2 बार क्यों बोलते हैं 

'राम-राम' शब्द जब भी अभिवादन करते समय बोल जाता है तो हमेशा 2 बार बोला जाता है। इसके पीछे एक वैदिक दृष्टिकोण माना जाता है। वैदिक दृष्टिकोण के अनुसार पूर्ण ब्रह्म का मात्रिक गुणांक 108 है। वह राम-राम शब्द दो बार कहने से पूरा हो जाता है,क्योंकि हिंदी वर्णमाला में ''र" 27वां अक्षर है।'आ' की मात्रा दूसरा अक्षर और 'म' 25वां अक्षर, इसलिए सब मिलाकर जो योग बनता है वो है 27 + 2 + 25 = 54, अर्थात एक “राम” का योग 54 हुआ। और दो बार राम राम कहने से 108 हो जाता है जो पूर्ण ब्रह्म का द्योतक है। जब भी हम कोई जाप करते हैं तो हमे 108 बार जाप करने के लिए कहा जाता है। लेकिन सिर्फ "राम-राम" कह देने से ही पूरी माला का जाप हो जाता है।

क्या है 108 का महत्व

शास्त्रों के अनुसार माला के 108 मनको का संबंध व्यक्ति की सांसो से माना गया है। एक स्वस्थ व्यक्ति दिन और रात के 24 घंटो में लगभग 21600 बार श्वास लेता है। माना जाता है कि 24 घंटों में से 12 घंटे मनुष्य अपने दैनिक कार्यों में व्यतीत कर देता है और शेष 12 घंटों में व्यक्ति लगभग 10800 बार सांस लेता है। शास्त्रों के अनुसार एक मनुष्य को दिन में 10800 ईश्वर का स्मरण करना चाहिए। लेकिन एक सामान्य मनुष्य के लिए इतना कर पाना संभव नहीं हो पाता है। इसलिए दो शून्य हटाकर जप के लिए 108 की संख्या शुभ मानी गई है। जिसके कारण जाप की माला में मनको की संख्या भी 108 होती है।

*राम* शब्द में दो अर्थ व्यंजित हैं। सुखद होना और ठहर जाना जैसे अपने मार्ग से भटका हुआ कोई पथिक किसी सुरम्य स्थान को देखकर ठहर जाता है। हमने सुखद ठहराव का अर्थ देने वाले जितने भी शब्द गढ़े, सभी में *राम* अंतर्निहित है।

, यथा *आराम, विराम, विश्राम, अभिराम, उपराम, ग्राम*
जो *रमने* के लिए *विवश* कर दे, वह *राम*

जीवन की आपाधापी में पड़ा *अशांत* मन जिस आनंददायक *गंतव्य* की सतत तलाश में है, वह गंतव्य है *राम*

भारतीय मन हर स्थिति में *राम* को *साक्षी* बनाने का आदी है।

दुःख में *हे राम*,

पीड़ा में *अरे राम*,

लज्जा में *हाय राम*,

अशुभ में *अरे राम राम*, 

अभिवादन में *राम राम*,

शपथ में *रामदुहाई*,

अज्ञानता में *राम जाने*,

अनिश्चितता में *राम भरोसे*,

अचूकता के लिए *रामबाण*,

मृत्यु के लिए *रामनाम सत्य*,

सुशासन के लिए *रामराज्य*

जैसी अभिव्यक्तियां पग-पग पर *राम* को साथ खड़ा करतीं हैं। *राम* भी इतने सरल हैं कि हर जगह खड़े हो जाते हैं। हर भारतीय उन पर अपना अधिकार मानता है।
जिसका कोई नहीं उसके लिए *राम* हैं- *निर्बल के बल राम*। असंख्य बार देखी सुनी पढ़ी जा चुकी *रामकथा* का आकर्षण कभी नहीं खोता। *राम* पुनर्नवा हैं। हमारे भीतर जो कुछ भी अच्छा है, वह *राम* है। जो *शाश्वत* है, वह *राम* हैं।
*सब-कुछ लुट जाने के बाद जो बचा रह जाता है, वही तो राम है। घोर निराशा के बीच जो उठ खड़ा होता है, वह भी राम ही है।*

When we meet or greet someone, we say Namaskar, Pranam or Ram-Ram.  Greeting someone is an integral part of all cultures, not just our culture.  And these traditions are made for a reason.  Like the tradition of calling someone Ram-Ram.  In olden times, the name of God was used to greet everywhere, be it the village or the city.  Even today there are many villages where they say Ram-Ram to greet each other.  But just think, while saluting the name of Lord Rama, you can take it even once, but it is not so.  Lord Rama's name is used 2 times while we greet someone.  What is the secret behind it?  Let's tell you.

Etymology of the word Ram

The word Rama is derived from two Sanskrit metals, ram and gham.  Ram means to ram or to be contained and Gham means empty space of the universe.  Thus Rama means the essence contained in the whole universe or the absorbed element i.e. Brahma himself, who is seated in the past.  It is written in the scriptures, "Ramante yoginah asmin sa ram uchyate", that is, the void in which the yogis rest in meditation is called Rama.

Why is Ram Naam spoken twice during salutation?

Whenever the word 'Ram-Rama' is uttered while greeting, it is always uttered twice.  A Vedic approach is believed to be behind this.  According to the Vedic view, the unitary coefficient of Purna Brahm is 108.  It is completed by saying the word Ram-Ram twice, because "R" is the 27th letter in the Hindi alphabet. The quantity of 'A' is the second letter and 'M' is the 25th letter, so the sum formed is 27.  + 2 + 25 = 54, that is, the sum of one "Ram" is 54. And by saying Ram twice, it becomes 108, which is a sign of complete Brahman. Whenever we do any chanting, we have to chant 108 times.  But just by saying "Ram-Ram" the whole rosary is chanted.

What is the importance of 108

According to the scriptures, 108 beads of the rosary are believed to be related to the breath of a person.  A healthy person breathes about 21600 times in 24 hours of day and night.  It is believed that out of 24 hours a person spends 12 hours in his daily activities and in the remaining 12 hours a person breathes about 10800 times.  According to the scriptures, a person should remember 10800 Gods in a day.  But it is not possible for a normal human being to do so much.  Therefore, the number 108 is considered auspicious for chanting by removing two zeros.  Due to which the number of beads in the rosary of chanting is also 108.

The word *Ram* has two meanings.  To be pleasant and to stay as if a wanderer who has strayed from his path stops seeing a picturesque place.  All the words we have coined to give the meaning of a pleasant stay, Ram is embedded in all.

The one who makes * compulsion to * sleep *, that * Ram *

The *disturbed* mind lying in the hustle and bustle of life is constantly in search of a pleasurable *destination*, that destination is *Ram*

Indian mind is accustomed to make *Rama* as *witness* in every situation.

*O Ram* in sorrow,

* Hey Ram * in pain,

*Hi Ram* in shame,

In inauspicious * Hey Ram Ram *,

In greeting * Ram Ram *,

*Ramduhai* in oath,

In ignorance, * Ram Jaane*,

* Ram trust in uncertainty,

*panacea* for inaccuracy,

*Ramnaam Satya* for death,

*Ram Rajya* for good governance

Such expressions make *Ram* stand at every step.  *Ram* is also so simple that he stands everywhere.  Every Indian considers his right over them.
  There is *Ram* for the one who has none- *Ram on the strength of the weak.  The attraction of *Ram Katha* which has been seen and read numerous times never loses it.  *Ram* is Punarnava.  Whatever is good within us is *Rama*.  The one who is *eternal* is *Rama*.
After everything is looted, what is left is Ram.  The one who gets up in the midst of great despair is also Ram.
